View of Parkes yard from the footbridge, c1929

View of Parkes yard, looking east from the footbridge, c1929

Although undated there are a number of features of this photo that narrow down the possible
range of dates for this photograph quite significantly. The presence of the Refreshment Rooms
means that the photo is after the beginning of 1928. The elevator on the end of the silos indicates
that it is not later than mid 1930. Other features worthy of note are the original Station Master's
residence on the far right; the rail motor shed immediately to the left of the gable of the SM's
house; the second steam shed immediately behind the 1912 one. Neither of these last two building
are present in the 1926 photo.
